We, our families and our ancestors have sinned and fallen short of Your Glory, and are justified by Your Grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Our iniquities have made a separation between us and You, and our sins have hidden Your face from us so that You have not heard.

We are confessing our sins, the sins of our families, the sins of our ancestors and the sins of all connected to us by blood, marriage or adoption. We believe You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In repentance, we turn back to You, that our sins may be blotted out - help us not to perish. Help us to confess and forsake all our sins, including any we may have forgotten, bring them to our remembrance so we may obtain Your mercy.

As we confess and repent for every sin below, or any other sin known and unknown, on behalf of ourselves, our ancestors and our bloodlines, we simultaneously renounce and denounce all evil acts we thought, committed or spoke against You via this sin, and break every covenant we knowingly or unknowingly came into with the kingdom of darkness via these sins.

[Confess any known sins]

  • Being lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, and having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power

1 John 2:

  • The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, which come not from You but from the world

[Confess other known sins]

Father, in Jesus' Name, we reason with You, so that though our sins are like scarlet, let us become as white as snow, though our sins are red like crimson, let us become like wool.

We ask for Your forgiveness for all these sins. We renounce and denounce all evil acts we thought, committed or spoke against You via these sins. We break every covenant we knowingly or unknowingly came into with the kingdom of darkness via these sins. We break any curse and bond of captivity that came upon us because of these sins, and we cast out any evil spirit that came upon us through these sins.

In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the second in the Trinity, the Son of God the Creator of all things.

Amen.
