A prayer against bitterness and unforgiveness.

Meditation

Matthew 5:23-26 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.

Prayer

  • Bring to our remembrance any brother that has something against us, and help us to go and be reconciled to them (Matthew 5:23)

  • Help us to cease from anger, and forsake wrath, and not to fret for it only causes harm (Psalm 37:8)

  • Create in us clean hearts and renew right spirits within us (Psalm 51:10)

  • Help us to cover offences and not repeat matters (Proverbs 17:9)

  • Give us the discretion that makes us slow to anger, and let it be our glory to overlook transgressions (Proverbs 19:11)

  • Help us to do unto others as we'd want them to do unto us (Matthew 7:12)

  • Help us to forgive 70 X 7 times (Matthew 18:22)

  • Help us to love You by keeping Your commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves (John 14:15)

  • Help us to avenge not ourselves, but give place unto the wrath of God, for it is written that vengeance belongs to You, and You will recompense (Romans 12:19)

  • Lord, let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking, be put away from us, with all malice (Ephesians 4:31)

  • Help us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave us (Ephesians 4:32)

  • Let no root of bitterness spring up in us to cause trouble, and let it not defile us (Hebrews 12:15)

  • Let anger not cause us to sin and remind us not to let the sun go down on our wrath, nor give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:26-27)

  • Help us to be Holy as You are Holy (1 Peter 1:15)

  • Help us to be perfect, as our Father, who is in Heaven, is perfect (Matthew 5:48)
