Adapted from Psalm 35.

Plead our cause, O Lord, with those who strive with us. Fight against every principality, every power, every ruler of the darkness of this world, every spiritual wickedness in any high place that fights against us.

Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for our help. Also draw out the spear and stop those who pursue us. Say to our soul that You are our salvation. Let every principality, every power, every ruler of the darkness of this world, every spiritual wickedness in any high place be turned back and brought to confusion which plots our hurt.

Let them be like chaff before the wind, and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of the Lord pursue them. “Lord, who is like You, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?”

Attackers gather against us, they tear at us and do not cease, they gnash at us with their teeth. Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue us from their destructions, our precious life from the lions. We will give You thanks in the great assembly, we will praise You among many people.

Lord, do not keep silent. O Lord, do not be far from us. Stir up Yourself, and awake to our vindication, to our cause, our God and our Lord. Vindicate us, O Lord our God, according to Your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over us. Let every principality, every power, every ruler of the darkness of this world, every spiritual wickedness in any high place be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion, those rejoicing at our hurt.

Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor our righteous cause, and let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” And our tongues shall speak of Your righteousness, and of Your praise all the day long.
